About

I was named for Boris Pasternak’s heroine in Dr. Zhivago. I love my name, although most people are unsure how to say it. That’s okay, just ask me. Please don’t call me Laura.

Being part fictional character myself, I have always found my voice at home on the written page. I write short stories, plays, essays, songs, curriculum, and non-fiction.

I was born in New York, raised in South Florida, and I am currently living in St. Paul, Minnesota with my husband and children. I serve as the Director of Education for a STEM school outside of Austin, Texas.
